To access the WhatsApp Business Platform (API), Meta requires businesses to undergo a verification process. Having these documents ready beforehand will speed up your approval from days to just a few hours.
1. Business Identity Proof (Any One)
Meta needs to verify that your business is a legally registered entity. You will need to upload a digital copy of one of the following:
GST Registration Certificate (Highly recommended for Indian businesses)
Certificate of Incorporation (For Pvt Ltd, OPC, or LLP)
MSME / Udyam Registration Certificate
Shop & Establishment License
Business PAN Card (Note: Individual PAN is often not accepted for Business Verification)
2. Address & Phone Proof
If your identity proof (above) does not clearly show your current business address or phone number, you may need a supporting document:
Utility Bill: Electricity, Landline, or Water bill in the legal business name.
Bank Account Statement: A recent statement showing the business name and address.
Business Tax Document: Any official tax filing that displays the registered address.
3. Digital & Technical Prerequisites
Beyond paper documents, your digital presence must meet these Meta standards:
Live Website: Your website must be functional and clearly display your business name and contact information.
Business Email: An email address with your company domain (e.g., info@yourbrand.com) is preferred over generic Gmail/Yahoo accounts. A Clean Phone Number: A number that is not currently active on any WhatsApp app. If it is, it must be deleted before it can be used for the API.

Your "Display Name" is what customers see on WhatsApp. It must be approved by Meta and follow these rules:
Direct Match: It must match the name on your legal documents or your website branding.
No Gimmicks: Avoid all-caps (unless it's an acronym), extra symbols, or emojis.
Non-Generic: Names like "Shoes" or "Support" will be rejected. Use "Royal Shoes" or "Convonite Support" instead.
