Meta Business Verification Guide: Step-by-Step Process

Meta Business Verification Process

Meta Business Verification is the process of proving that your business is a legitimate, legally registered entity. While it is not always mandatory to start messaging, it is the "gold standard" for security and is required to unlock higher messaging limits and apply for the Official Business Account (Blue Tick).

Why Verify Your Business?

  1. Higher Messaging Limits: Move from Tier 1 (1,000 conversations) to Tier 2 (10,000 conversations) and beyond.
  2. Blue Tick Eligibility: You cannot get the verified badge without first completing this process.
  3. Increased Trust: Meta signals to users that your business has been vetted, reducing the likelihood of being flagged as spam.
  4. Access to Advanced Features: Unlocks certain Meta commerce features and developer tools.

What Meta Verifies

Meta looks for a "Three-Way Match." The information on your Legal Documents must match your Meta Business Suite and your Live Website across three categories:
  1. Legal Business Name: Exactly as it appears on government records.
  2. Physical Address: The registered office or place of business.
  3. Phone Number / Domain Email: To verify you have authority over the business.

The Step-by-Step Verification Flow

1. Access the Security Center
Go to your Meta Business Settings and click on Security Center in the left-hand menu.

2. Click "Start Verification"
If the button is greyed out, you may need to "trigger" it by creating a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) or a Meta App first.

3. Enter Business Details
Enter your legal name, address, and website. Pro Tip: Ensure your website's footer contains the exact legal name and address mentioned in your documents.

4. Upload Supporting Documents
Upload high-resolution PDFs of your registration (e.g., GST Certificate, Incorporation papers) and a utility bill if the address needs further proof.

5. Choose a Verification Method
Meta will send a code to verify your identity via:
  1. Business Email (e.g., admin@yourbrand.com)
  2. Phone Call/SMS
  3. Domain Verification (Adding a code to your website backend)

Common Reasons for Rejection
"The most common reason for rejection is a 'Minor Mismatch.' If your GST says 'Convonite Solutions Private Limited' but your Meta account says 'Convonite,' Meta will likely reject it. It must be a 100% character-for-character match."
  1. Poor Document Quality: Using photos of documents instead of digital PDF scans.
  2. Incomplete Website: A website that is "under construction" or missing a contact page.
  3. Public Email: Using @gmail.com or @yahoo.com instead of a professional domain email.

How Convonite Simplifies Verification

The Meta Business Suite can be a maze of menus. Convonite provides a dedicated "Verification Assistant" that:

  1. Pre-audits your documents to catch errors before you submit them to Meta.
  2. Guides you through the 'Grey Button' fix to ensure you can actually start the process.
  3. Tracks your status in real-time, notifying you the moment Meta grants your verified status.
