Step-by-Step Setup Process  

Step 1: Create Your Business Portfolio  

  2. Click Create Account.
  3. Enter your Legal Business Name, your name, and your Work Email Address.

Step 2: Add Your Business Assets  

  1. Navigate to Business Settings (the gear icon).

  2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Set this to "Required for Everyone." Meta will not approve your WhatsApp API request if 2FA is disabled.
  3. Add a Backup Admin: Always have a second admin to ensure you don't lose access to your account. 

Setting Up Billing for WhatsApp  

Since the API uses a "Pay-per-Conversation" model, you must link a payment method directly to your Meta account:
  1. In Business Settings, go to Billing & Payments.
  2. Click Payment Methods and add a valid Credit or Debit card.
  3. Ensure your card supports International Transactions, as Meta charges are often processed globally.
